"Go to the source." Frank's Home Page (mirror site) shows how a citizen can get to the bottom of issues by doing what the present media often fails to do - examining the sources before writing the headlines. Clearly, the source material has to be available and this is where the idea of a "portal" arises. The Federal government maintains archives of Congressional and other documents and provides this information on the Internet. As the amount of information grows, it will become more difficult to cull out items relating to specific issues which are of interest to citizen researchers. Thus, sites such as this one are being created to house collections of source material. This is done not because we fear the Government will purge the information but because we want to make focused source material more readily available to citizens. It is a fitting coincidence that this portal is the entrance to source data on the various and sundry "Gate" investigations that became the hallmark of the GOP controlled Congress at the close of the 20th Century.
